6  Weather Layer

6.1  Manufacturing Units

A weather layer can create new units: it stops near a gold or iron ore, loads it, moves possibly, and unload on an adjacent cell a tank, a pontoon or a crab (this consumes the ore).

Only gold or iron ore can be used.

A weather layer cannot manufacture more than 2 units per player's turn. It can lay the following units: tank, crab (only one per player's turn) and pontoon (only one per player's turn).

A weather layer can load a ore, move, unload it or lay a new unit. When it loads, unloads or lays, the weather layer is subjected to the same rules that a carrier. It may only load, transport and unload an ore, as such, it is similar to a carrier. A weather layer can load an ore, move and lay its unit farther, even in an other turn.

The creation of a new unit thus costs 2 points: 1 point to load an ore and 1 point to "lay" the unit. "Laying" is comparable to unload.

Situation at the beginning of the turn.
1st Point:
The weather layer loads the ore.
2nd Point:
The weather layer transports the ore.
3rd Point:
The weather layer makes and unloads a pontoon.

6.2  Tides Forecast

After a tide change, the ownership of an operational weather layer allows to know the future tide. A player possessing two operational weather layers can know two future tides, etc.

A weather layer is not operational when in the spaceship, on a barge, under the opposite fire or stuck.
